huayco

The 20 photographs in this publication follow the inverse path of a 1998 huayco* that took place in Santa Eulalia, in the Central Peruvian Andes. The last picture was taken when it was no longer possible to continue climbing along the huayco without additional help.

*The term huayco comes from the Quechua wayq'u, which refers to the path made by a violent landslide, but commonly used to refer to the landslide itself.
